Parvati - Custaroons + other heavenly desserts!

Cakes, pastries, and sweets really comfort us. It makes each moment sweeter...and better right? last June 12, since it is a holiday, we finally got a chance to visit  Parvati in Trinoma and have a taste again (2nd time) of the super famous, heavenly custaroons.

Parvati , Mindanao Lobby, Trinoma mall
Parvati gathered all of the bestsellers of homebakers and placed them in their store, making it a one-stop shop for all occasions! It is quite small; yet it looks very classy, casual, and is full of people! Inside you'll find several refrigerators containing their famous products. I ordered Custaroon Poppers (which I've long been craving for), 275 pesos, for 25 pcs.

Custaroon poppers, 275 pesos, 30 pcs
Very pretty packaging right? Perfect as a gift! If you are wondering what's inside, then let's open it...

Custaroons! Custard + Macaroons wrapped in cocoa!Yummy!
25 custaroon poppers will make your heart jump of excitement! The moment I saw this, I felt super duper happy :) Here are some close-up pictures..

After biting, here's a shot.

Custaroon poppers is a majestic creation of Gigi Gaerlan. The word came from the combination of custard + macaroons = custaroons.  It also has a very cheesy and creamy taste, which will make you smile. The custaroon itself is smooth in texture, and is preferred to be eaten chilled to enjoy its flavor without the cocoa melting onto your hands.

Heaven! Super love 'em!
The moment you eat these bite-sized sweets, you'll surely feel a shiver of yumminess. Just make sure to share it with your friends since too much will make you get used to the taste. The picture itself is deadly-delicious, so try it for yourself! Parvati is located in Trinoma mall, near Conti's, so make sure to drop by when you go there.

RATINGS: 9.5/10

Will I come back? definitely yes! I have to try everything in their menu like a.) Triple Decker Cheesecake, b.) Frozen brazo, c.)Pistacho Sansrival, etc. Join me in my foodtrip next time and let's try all of their products!

Bag of Beans - Tagaytay

Tagaytay is a favorite hangout place because of its cold weather. One of our favorite places here is Bag of Beans, just along the Tagaytay road (Aguinaldo hi-way).

The place is cozy and  nature-themed - garden dining sets, wooden benches, and even mini huts where big groups can stay.

the ambiance- cozy chairs and plants all over the place. photo by: Bobby Reyes

They have a fairly long list of dishes from breakfast up to dinner. Nonetheless, they are really famous for their Cheesecakes! You can really consider their desserts as appetizers- Strawberry Cheesecake, 150 pesos
Strawberry Cheesecake, 150 pesos, my personal fave!
Their Strawberry Cheesecake is simply awesome. The cheesecake itself is different from the traditional type- it has more cream, and frozen. It is not really sweet which makes it perfect when topped with the sweet Strawberry glaze topping. I also love the fact that it has layers of graham crust (graham adds the magic flavor in cakes right?). Just try it for yourself.  It is my personal favorite.

They also have Blueberry Cheesecake, 150 pesos!
Blueberry Cheesecake, 150 pesos....yummy!
The cheesecake base is the same with the strawberry type. The only difference is the blueberry topping. If you are searching for a mind-boosting antioxidant treat, then order this variation (trivia: Blueberry is the #1 brain food).

For a perfect afternoon snack, pair these cakes with a cup of Cafe Mocha, ~105 pesos

Cafe Mocha with a cute little swan design!
Of course- if you are wondering if their coffee is ok- my answer is Yes!. Batangas, Silang, and Tagaytay are all proud of their strong-tasting coffee! Just the right drink to have the surge of energy. And, looking into the presentation- you'll surely think twice before distorting the pretty swan figure..

For some unknown reasons, all of us ordered pasta dishes that day. I ordered Chicken Breast Fillet with Pasta (red sauce), 320 pesos
Chicken breast fillet with pasta (red sauce), 320 pesos. Chicken is super tender!
This combo is great! Even though I am not really hungry, I was able to consume everything in around 15 minutes. The chicken is tenderly cooked with just the right spice. The pasta has the rich taste of tomato. Top it with parmesan, and you'll get the "Oh-spaghetti" feeling. Price is quite high, but if you are there to chill, the value is ok since the place is great.

Here are the other orders: Lasagna
Hearty Meaty Lasagna
According to my friends, even though it looks super cheesy, the Lasagna is quite dry and super meaty. Nonetheless, if you love hearty meaty dishes, then you might like their version.

Here's a shot of their Spaghetti-
same with Lasagna, they also have hearty meaty Spaghetti
They have a large serving that will fit for 2-3 people. The spaghetti, same with lasagna has a super hearty meaty sauce.

We also ordered, Shepherd's Pie

Shepherd's Pie....wondering what's inside?
I wasn't able to try this one, but my friends are able to finish it quickly, so it must be good.

And that's our Bag of Beans Tagaytay bonding. I surely recommend this place for friends, families, and even lovers out there. BoB offers good food and place to relax and unwind away from the bustling streets of the city.  If you plan to buy treats, they also have a store selling their well-known raisin bread, sylvannas, mini cinnamon rolls, and a lot more!

Slice - sandwiches and sweets @ BGC

My friends and I love eating- that's a fact. So one Friday lunch out,  we tried the famous store of Pia Cayetano in Bonifacio Global City - SLICE.

Slice, Bonifacio Global City, beside Jamba Juice

Their menu is comprised of various comfort foods-sandwiches, pasta, and sweets. What distinguishes this store from the other places I've tried is their quality taste, and simple yet comfy ambiance.

First on the list is the Tuna Melt Panini, 150 pesos
Tuna Melt Panini, 150 pesos- see the tuna overload?
This is my default order wherever I go for 2 reasons- a.) to be safe, since I'm a tuna and cheese lover, and b.) health-wise, this is a good option.

Their tuna melt for me is just normal. Yes, it is cheesy and full of tuna! Plus, it has lots of vegetables! I just can't find the "X-factor". Also, 150 pesos is quite high, considering that it is nearly the same with the other paninis that I've tried. Nonetheless, this is still a good, healthy choice for lunch or afternoon merienda.

My friend ordered Duo Formaggi con Pesto, 150 pesos
Duo Formaggi con Pesto, 150 pesos. H-E-A-V-E-N
This is heaven! Just by looking in the picture, you can see how cheesy it is right?  Try it ! Yummy! One of the best panini in my list so far...

Ratings: 5/5

We also tried their Mac and Cheese, ~150 pesos
Mac n' Cheese. Cheese..Cheese...Cheese!!!!
I seldom find places with good Mac n' cheese. Most renditions are either too milky, or too cheesy. But this version, is good! It has the right balance of milk, sweetness, and cheese! My only advice is don't eat it alone because you might get used with the taste. 1 order is good for sharing of 2-3 people, and just order panini or salad as a side.

Here are the pictures of their other products-

Quiche with side salad, ~200 pesos

The side salad,

Cupcakes! Sweets, Sweets, Sweets! Lovely!

I've never tried their cupcakes yet, (maybe after my healthy-living diet), but they are surely eye-candies saying "Hello! try me, I'm yummy! ".

Overall, Slice is a good place, but not awesome. Their food is delicious, the service is ok. Just try to visit the stores on the right time, or preferably call before going to ensure that they have stocks, since their bestsellers are usually sold out. Visit it with your friends, the ambiance is cool, and just right for a perfect catch-up!

Here's a picture of us- Smiles @ Slice!
