Cassava Leche Flan Cake - Bataan's Pride

Cassava cake is a popular Filipino dessert from grated cassava available almost anywhere here in the Philippines. Just today, upon visiting Bataan and Subic, we were able to try out Bataan's own special version (super thanks to Jon !)

The cake is composed of 2 main parts:

 (a) Cassava -It is moist and soft. It has a tikoy-like texture on the outside, and moist cake on the inside. The good thing that I really really like is that it is not too sweet, so you can eat a lot in just one seating.

(b) Leche flan on top - I love the way the flan melts in the mouth when you eat it. It pairs well with the simplicity of the cake.  It is smooth, and just ....yummy!

Ratings: 9.5/10

Overall, this cassava cake is one of the best we've ever tried. It can be breakfast, lunch or dinner dessert, and also perfect as afternoon/midnight snack. As for the store details, it still remains a mystery but definitely, I'll be trying to research on where they bought this delicious treat so you can also try it out. So what are you waiting for?
